Sketch Crop!!!

RELEASE DAY HOP!!!

This is my FAVORITE Wednesday of the month!! Release Wednesday!!!

First, this is part of the Queen Kat Designs Hop, so if you did not start at the beginning, you will want to go BACK so you won't miss one blog!

Now, on with my creations....I had a BLAST because I got to create with Holly Christmas! Isn't she BEAUTIFUL!!! I'm not sure I did her the justice that is due her!



I couldn't let the little bingo cards from the Jenni Bolin set (you know the one that most folks throw away that shows what all the cards in the pack look like...) go to waste! I embossed Holly and colored her with copics and jells!

Then for the second one I wish you could really see it, I stamped the image with a glue pad and used white glitter....she is beautiful!

So much fun....I have a few other creations in the GALLERY, and have some ready to go for the month on the WIS blog! So be watching for those throughout the month! (I've got 6 Christmas cards made....yea me!)

Hoppin Good Time

It's Wednesday again and of course that means it is time for another Royal Wednesday Hop for Queen Kat Designs Stamps!

Now, on with a creation...This week we are featuring a 'special project' and the project that was picked was a 'box'.....hmmm...I said.....and then I remember that I had a few of the premade matchboxes...so I whipped one of them out and then I found that I had already colored Tilly in the perfect colors! (she is actually purple and matches the box/ribbon perfect....sorry for the bad photograph!)



I'm not one that is used to doing 'boxes' but this was super easy and fun...and my daughter, Lydia has already claimed it....she LOVES the WIS stamps!

Annabelle Fun

So this weekend (well Thursday through Saturday at midnight!!!) I got to go to a 3 day crop! Wooohooo! That was sooo much fun...

Can you BELIEVE that most of the folks were only scrappin???? They were hardly making cards at all! I just couldn't believe my eyes...ha ha ha....they just don't know do they?

So I pulled out a piece of chipboard that was shaped like a mushroom and saw some cute cards done by my friend (well, she was making cards with me...so it wasn't totally unheard of...but out of 250 women it was only a handfull of us!). She had taken a shape and made some cards with it, so I decided to lift the idea.

I stamped my image first, then centered the shape over it, traced and cut out. Then I just put a small crease at the top and glued them together....then I got to playing...what to do what to do....I just started coloring away. I wanted Annabelle to have clear wings so after I had the outside colored I used the glossey accents on the inside (you can't tell that well on the pics, but it is a cute effect!). After that she needed more....

So, I added the little butterfly using a little bit of wire to 'spring' at the top! It is sooo cute! This picture just does not do her justice!



And of course I used one of the new sayings stamps for the sentiment...

Now, if you want to see more of what I accomplished this weekend you'll have to come back tomorrow! I'll put more of it up! I did 8 layouts and 4 cards and I LOVE them all!

A Hop and a Hazing!

It is a DOUBLE fun day!

Today is not only a Hop day at Queen Kat Stamps but ALSO the second hazing for Whimsical Ink Stamps (a division of QK Stamps)!

Magical Flamingo Monday

Anyone want an 18 and 19 year old??? LOL....

Sorry that I'm late in the day for posting this but 2 of my kids that were out of the house are now IN the house! Sure threw me off schedule today...

ANYWAY!!!! I GOT THEM!!!! The Flamingos!! YOU HAVE To have them they are just toooo fun!



I went fairly simple with them (that seems to be my style isn't it) but in no time at all made this cute card! I sure hope you enjoy and REMEMBER that we have some NEW stamps coming out

Royal Wednesday Hop Time!

When I saw the theme for the hop today I was all over it! I LOVE me some Vintage goodness!

Queen Kat Designs has some of the BEST Vintage stamps out there, and in alll reality any stamp can be given the 'look'. Which ever way you choose it just give it a TRY! You can go vintage 'funky' or vintage earthy....You can distress, or you can just go simple....what ever it is you HAVE to try it!

Here is my card....the stamp is one of the retired Vintage Girls by the Queen Kat's Grandmother herself!



Even though this one is retired there are 13 stamps that aren't that are a MUST for every collection! I have 4 or 5 of them! (pst...great for 'guy' type cards too!)

Monday Monday....

It is actually a half way decent day for a Monday so far! I sureeeee could use one of these and hope that it stays this way!

I posted today on the Whimsical Ink Sorority Blog today....why don't you hop over there and see it and you HAVE to see all the wonderful ideas on that blog! You are missing out on a LOT if you don't!

It is SUMMER!!!

And if where you live is like where I live it is SUMMER there too!

YUCK...HOT.....I mean, this morning at 10 it was already 85....eeewww....and by the looks of the week it is going to be mid 90's for a while (don't wanna know heat indexes....eeewwww).

So, how about a little LEMONADE! Oh yea... How about some nice coooool lemonade!

Okay, so I don't have the real stuff I can give you, but at least you can THINK it with this card! LOL....I used one of the newest release stamps from Queen Kat Designs.... The Beach Essentials Stamp Set. I'd love to be sitting on the beach, soaking up some sun, and then walk into my BEACH HOUSE and stamp for a while, then back out to the beach...doesn't that sound like fun???

QK Release Hop!!!

Hi friends and stampers!!! It is another QK RELEASE day and we are showing ya everything through a hop! You should have joined me from Victoria's Blog (hope you welcomed her to the QK Team! Okay...now that we have all the logistics, on to the fun!

I got to play with the Aloha Spirit Stamp Set....simple little set but full of sooo many possibilities and worth having in your stash!

For this card I stamped the Hibiscus flower on white cardstock, colored it and then duplicated this but cut it out and used some pop dots (I sure do love pop dots) to bring some dimention to the card.



This card was super simple also, but I love how it turned out! And yes, I used pop dots again! HA!

Tuesday....

Nothing special about today....but thought I would just share a few layouts I've done lately....

Royal Wednesday Hop!

How about another great week with a fun hop! You should have joined me from Tina's Blog.

If you just happened on my blog you WANT to start the hop at the beginning so go HERE to the Queen Kat Designs Blog and start at the beginning!

This week the challenge is to use stitching on your cards! You can machine stitch, hand stitch, or even faux stitch, as long as there is some stitching on it!

I went with the faux stitching.





I used two different stamp sets (cuz they are so cute together), the owl is from the HOOTERS stamp set (such cute little owls!!!). The flower is from the Diva Monster Set . I hand drew the stems with a glaze pen and just cut them out.

I love faux stitching and love how it frames every thing, kind of like putting a finishing touch on your design!

Hello!!!!!

HELLO!!!! Is there anybody out there? (just checking!)

How is your Friday going so far? Are you ready for a big holiday weekend (for all our US folks) OR are you just going to have a nice relaxing weekend to chill?

I think we are going to the movies on Saturday (gotta see Night at the Museum!) and then the rest of the weekend (including Monday!) we are going to just chill and do as little as possible). SO for me that means I get to play in my scrappin/stampin stuff!!! Woohooo!

To start the weekend I got my Geisha Girls Stamp Set #2 (just got them!! wooohooo!) and made up this quick little 'hello' card. Think I'll send it to a friend that is having a rough spot right now! Hopefully it will bring a smile to her day....

Magical Monday

Aaahhh...Monday....(who says that?)

It is Monday but we can fill it with a little magic and whimsy by playing with one of the new Whimisical stamps. It takes the 'dread' off of Monday and puts some fun and magic into it.

These stamps can take on any 'mood' that you want them to take on just by choosing different colors. You can make them bright and cheery, with brighter colors and maybe red or brown hair, or you can opt for a little calming effect by maybe black hair and lighter colors. What ever you choose they are all magic...and the magic is in you!
