C52 Layouts!!

Yea me! HA....considering tomorrow is C52 and they HAD to be done, here are my C52 layouts for April! Fun stuff to work with! Fancy Pants and Dream Street. Also includes the goodies from the single page that I shared a few days ago (Lakeside Ranch).

I found this today as I was surfing....thought it was soooo good and of course I had to share!

Okay...putting this in a post of it's own so it can be linked to the challenge! You guys really NEED to check this challenge out and play along! I'm sure you will be glad you did!

Realize that the inspiration for what you do lies within YOU! All the creative juices are there....think about it....find it....and then let the creative juices flow! Sometimes it takes a little jump start from 'seeing' something else...but what comes out is YOU!

When you scrap a page, those photographs are YOURS, they are special to you for whatever reason....anyone else looks at them and there is a whole different meaning....when you create a card you are the one that puts the stamp where you put it, puts the piece of ribbon here or uses that color combo....you are unique...and you will create what inspires YOU! GO FOR IT!

To Do ATC...and a little more..

Today was a busy but fairly good day....those don't happen as often as I'd like....nothing major to make it good, just nothing to make it bad...

I did the 'busy' stuff....school first. We are ALMOST done! YEA! Then clean the house and the usual 4 loads of laundry (4 more to do tomorrow...sigh). And cleaned up a few other little hot spots in the house.

THEN finally I scrapped! Not one of my April 'goal' layouts but it is a C52 layout and I made it work for the survivor challenge for Tally too! YEA! I do love the layout and enjoyed the time reading Marion's journal again. As many times as I've read that I always love reading it over and over again.

AND I'm not finished! I made my April ATC! YEA ME! Nothing is completed on it yet...but I had a thought, even if I don't get them done I can go back and complete them....my goal is to have them done in April, but then again they are WANTS to do's....so if I don't get them done in April I will still WANT to do them!

Anyway....I'm watching some crazy movie that Martina and John rented...not to sure if I like it or not....I'll let you know later! HA!

I'm gonna....

Why is it that when I WANT to go scrap I can't...and then when I have the chance to I don't??? Are you like this?? I don't think this is true just for the scrapping world either....you WANT to do things, but you put them off or just don't do them....why do we do that? I wish I had the answers, but for me I need something to push me and make me do something....

But I don't wanna just challenge myself in my scrapping/stamping world...I want to apply this to my LIFE....so here is the deal....this is my 'challenge to me'.....This is the fourth month...so for April I'm giving myself 4 challenges....and if it works like I want it do in May I'll give myself 5!

1. Create 8 layouts that are JUST FOR ME
2. Loose 5 lbs before Chris and Nikki's wedding (May 10)
3. Upload music to my ipod thingy I got for Christmas (not a real one) Yes, I know....it is April!
4. Use FABRIC on a layout...I've NEVER done this and have wanted to for years

I was inspired to do this from going HERE {I} am Inspiration Because I can be my own inspiration!!

OH...and to make sure I SEE this challenge every day....I'm off to create myself a few ATC type cards that LIST these....hmm....this could be interesting.....hmmm....maybe I'm on to something??? Okay...my news....check out Reva's blog!!! She got it done and I'm sooooo proud of her! She is an awesome photographer and I surely see her going PLACES!

Man...that was scary!

Friday was a ROUGH day for our neighborhood! I think this am we counted at least 5 to 6 houses that people cannot live in due to the destruction.

We had a tornado go through about 1:00ish (I think...at this point I don't even remember what time it was...we were huddled in our hallway and then made a mad dash for Martina's bathroom!). It did a lot of damage to our community. A good part of the folks around here do not have electricity.

We were spared and only lost a few shingles on our roof (at least so far that is what we see) and a few trees down in the back yard. We also had 3 pieces of our fence blown down. Two are temporarily put back up so far. The guy on that side is going to call the fence company....we put the fence up about 2 or 3 years ago so he said it is his turn. The one piece that is down on the other side is really a privacy part of a fence so there is a chain link on the other side of it. We have other minor stuff...The two trees we lost are on the creek and one of them was a big part of our shade so now we have more light in our den that I care for but what can we do....we are thankful that they didn't go on or in our house like so many others in our neighborhood! Besides the 5 or 6 that are not livable there are again as many that have trees that fell on their houses...(just not in them). So there are lots of blue tarps up that is for sure. The neighborhood right behind ours (the other side of the creek) still don't have electricity....WalMart and Brookshires are running off of generators....but they are open!

Anyway...it was a day to remember...huddled together, praying for protection.....and a weekend full of thanksgiving! Some how no one got hurt!!!

Purple Snurple

Caardvarks challenge was for PURPLE...well..it is my FAVORITE color so who could resist this challenge...and nothing like coming in under the wire!

And because I could, I did a layout! Not for any challenge, but simply for me...I couldn't get it like I wanted and then I thought about adding the white circles...I think they added just the right touch. Not the most WOW layout, but I like it anyway, it isn't always about WOW now is it?


Hmmm....what will tomorrow bring???

April SHOWERS!

Well...nothing like starting the first day in April off with the appropriate, APRIL SHOWERS...lots of rain, but makes everything look so lush so I won't complain.....but that does mean that yard work will be kicking up big time....and to top it off, the temp Thurs looks to be around 86.....umm....where is spring?

Anyway....thought I would go on and post some cards...they are for this Saturday's Card Club at ASF!
They are featuring one of QK's Lil Monster sets! Sooooooo cute! Designed by Tanis! If you want the kit there might still be a few available and they are only like $14.99 if you do them month to month! A 6 month script is like $13.99 and a 12 month one is $12.99 (I'm almost positive) and in each one you will get a stamp set! You can't beat that!

Of course ASF's web site is still having difficulties...but hopefully that will be fixed this week....sigh....such is life on the internet!

It is SUNDAY!!!

And what a beautiful Sunday it is around here! Went to early service, taught small groups and came home while most of the rest of the family is still at church....so since I've been home I've changed the sheets on the bed, made the bed, switched over the laundry, folded the stuff from the dryer, took digis of the layout I did last night, uploaded it to Tally and have even checked emails!

Woohooo.....so....without further ado....here is the layout I did last night! It was for the survivor challenge at Tally and it was all about texture....I added LOTS to this one...and I haven't done that in a LONG time!

After Friday comes Saturday

And it is my HOPES that I get to just chill all day....I'm HOPING to maybe scrap a page or two. I'm thinking we will have to run to AT&T (Cingular or what ever it is today) to get DH a new cell phone...he can't find his! NOT a good thing. BUT at least it is turned off as far as we can tell. If you call it it just goes right to voice mail, so we are thinking it is dead where ever it is. Wonder if we both end up with new phones tomorrow...that might be fun....maybe....but I don't want it to take all day that is for sure! Maybe lunch out but that is it!

HOPEFULLY I will have some new stuff to put up tomorrow....HOPEFULLY!

They told me it was coming....I've had the 'label' put on me....but could it be true???

What is this crazy woman talking about...well...if you're a man, you might want to stop reading...

If you are YOUNG, you might think she is really off her rocker....

If you have already experienced 'IT' you are probably laughing.....

BUT if you are in 'IT' with me you can RELATE!!! And I don't need to even tell you because you should already know!

The last few days have been a roller coaster of EMOTIONS! Happy one minute....and in TEARS the next....YUCK....YUCK....YUCK....

So....what is a girl to do...she MUST find some HUMOR.....that is it....so in my quest for something to make me LAUGH I found a great site.....I spent an hour or more there reading and laughing....(and even almost crying....but that is okay this time....)

It is called 'Minnie Pauz'

Here is one of the items I found on it, make sure you go visit! Especially if you are in 'IT'....it is great for some laughter!

A very weird thing has happened. A strange old lady has moved into my house. I have no idea
who she is, where she came from or how she got in. I certainly did not invite her. All I know is
that one day she wasn’t there, and the next day she was. She is a clever old lady and manages
to keep out of sight for the most part, but whenever I pass a mirror, I catch a glimpse of her.
And whenever I look in the mirror to check my appearance, there she is, hogging the whole thing,
completely obliterating my gorgeous face and body. This is very rude. I have tried screaming
at her, but she just screams back.

If she insists on hanging around, the least she could do is offer to pay part of the rent, but no.
Once in a while, I find a dollar bill stuck in a coat pocket, or some loose change under a sofa
cushion, but is not nearly enough to even pay part of the rent.I don’t want to jump to conclusions,
but I think she is stealing money from me, I go to the ATM and withdraw $100, and a few days
later it’s all gone. I certainly don’t spend money that fast, so I can only conclude the old lady is taking it.

You’d think she would spend some of that money to buy wrinkle cream, Lord knows she needs
it. And money isn’t the only thing I think she is stealing. Food seems to disappear at an
alarming rate. -- especially the good stuff like ice cream, cookies and candy. I can’t seem to keep
that stuff in the house anymore. She must have a real sweet tooth, but she’d better watch it,
because she is really packing on the pounds, I suspect she realizes that and to make herself feel
better, she is tampering with my scale to make me think I am putting on weight too.

For an old lady, she is quite childish. She likes to play nasty games, like going into my closets
when I’m not home and altering my clothes so they won’t fit. And she messes with my files and
papers so I can’t find anything. This is particularly annoying since I am extremely neat and
organized. She also fiddles with my VCR so it does not record what I have carefully
programmed it to do.She has found other imaginative ways to annoy me. She gets into my mail,
newspapers and magazines before I do and blurs the print so I can’t read it. And she has done
something really sinister to the volume controls on my TV, radio and telephone. Now all I hear
are mumbles and whispers.

She has done other things -- like make my stairs steeper, my vacuum cleaner heavier and all
my knobs and faucets harder to turn. She even made my bed higher so that getting into and out
is a real challenge. Lately she has been fooling with my groceries, applying glue to the lids,
making it almost impossible for me to open the jars. Is this any way to repay my hospitality.
She has taken the fun out of shopping for clothes. When I try something on, she stands in front
of the dressing room mirror and monopolizes it. She looks totally ridiculous in some of those
outfits, plus she keeps me from seeing how great they look on me.

Just when I thought she couldn’t get any meaner, she proved me wrong. She came along when
I went to get my passport picture taken, and just as the camera shutter clicked, she jumped in
front of me! Disaster! I have never seen such a terrible picture. How can I go abroad now? No
customs official is ever going to believe that that crone scowling from my passport is me.
She's walking on very thin ice. If she keeps this up, I swear, I'll put her in a home. On second
thought, I shouldn't be too hasty. First, I think I'll check with the IRS and see if I can claim her as a dependent

Did manage to get our Easter pics yesterday! So here are a few....Mason was having 'height' issues...he is NOT liking it that his 13 yo brother is taller than him! HA....he had to stand on the 'hill' and on his tiptoes....

Home again, home again...

Been home for a while but life didn't stop....so I'm FINALLY getting to post on here!

To say it was an AMAZING tour would be an understatement!

Tonight we have our homecoming concert....anxious to see the kiddos again.....and then tomorrow it is back to the normal routine....4 more weeks of school! YEA! So that is our next count down.

Also....I haven't been feeling well....don't know what is up. Happened a few months ago and going through it all again. MAJOR issues with my stomach. After going to church yesterday, fixing lunch and eating I went to bed to block the pain and stayed there all day. Today my stomach is better but every bone in my body aches from being in that bed. But I am determined to get something done today....at least the house is fairly clean, most of the laundry is done....so it should be okay!

Day after tomorrow!!!!

YIKES! We are almost there!

This year has been full of changes....shall I say I was a tad reluctant for those changes at first too...then I put my big girls on and went with it! And I will say that this is the first time that I'm not going like 90 to nothing a few days before we go! Tomorrow will be crazy, but that is okay!

So....we were ordered to 'disengage' and I took the time to scrap a few pages....here they are....

Reva has a camera again!!! And the world knows it! And we are happy! HA!

So, she came up to church with Martina for Common Ground practice...they snuck over to the cross and took some pictures of her and John...I love this cross on our grounds and when I'm down I will go there often to pray....it was the first thing they placed on our campus before it was built a few years ago! Anyway....these pictures are simply stunning....I think she has a future....don't you??



Well...we have like 5 more days...YIKES! We leave Saturday for tour and I'm READY to go....still scared about Sunday am! PLEASE pray for good weather that day! And pray that God is with us and has us where HE would have us to go!

Scrappy day!

I love days like today! I started scrapping Friday night and ALL day today....I didn't even get out of my jammies today! Woohoo....and I completed 5 layouts and 6 cards! Some of the layouts are for C52...here is one of those and the best thing is it only took about 15 minutes to do this one....


Aren't they just the sweetest together! By the way...that is Martina and John! If you haven't heard he is her 'guy' and we are suspecting that they will be together forever! He sure loves her and she him and you can SEE the love!

I will scan the other layout I wanna show you guys tomorrow....let's just say it has my favorite scrapping subject in it! DH! I think it is just knowing that his health is going down hill that is making me want to scrap him so much!

I also did 6 cards but they will have to wait to be revealed until tomorrow (or Monday) too! And they hold a BIG surprise! I'm excited to show you all!

Well...off to bed....BIG day tomorrow at church! The kids sing in all 3 services!

Facing Trials

Today was a rough day....rough in the fact that it was mentally draining....I HATE to sound negative so I don't want to focus on that but it was a day to face past 'stuff'.....some of that 'stuff' that is even in that layout I just did...

Now...the question is, will the results be what we hope for....I don't know....but what I can know is that it has been brought to the table. Taken out of our hands and now it will be up to GOD to work out the small stuff....

I looked back on 2007 and thought it was so tough but now that I'm looking at 2008 I see that it has more in store for us that 2007 ever could have...I just pray that the outcome will once again bring us closer together as a family and closer to our heavenly Father....

So....after the night comes the DAWN! Right! So...here is to a new day....and I pray that we awaken refreshed and renewed in our understanding of how HE is God and we are NOT!

A bit personal...

I decided that this layout deserves its own post....Wanda had a challenge at ASF last week to do a layout that was personal, painful, out of the 'norm'....(make sure you check out the weekly dares!)

Manic Monday

Well...not that bad but it was busy! School....laundry.....more laundry....tidy house....work on CG stuff....more laundry....scan and upload a few layouts....and still have more laundry that needs to be done! Tomorrow will be much like a repeat but add in a WW meeting...I also have a new WW at work to do on Thursdays! Now the day it TIGHT with meetings...and this Thursday will be the first time. I probably need to run to a center to pick up stuff for the new one.

Tonight I need to go work on more CG stuff....

Crazy Thursday!

I'm sure that this will just make you all sooooo excited but it is CRAZY Thursday! LOL....the day that I hit the floor running and don't stop....I managed to come home for a few between running today! Don't always get to do that but I did today and I've even finished my paper work so I had a few minutes! Back out the door in about an hour and won't be home till about 9:00pm....but these days are always good days in the end....

So...do YOU have a CRAZY day???? Is there one day of the week that you hit the floor running??? What is your Thursday like???

This weekend was fairly uneventful but yet busy....we had practice with the kids Friday night...that was fun....things are shaping up for tour and getting exciting!

Saturday we had the card club at the store....that was nice.....Dana is doing a great job and all I have to do is be there to help! Well....at least be there.....

Sniff sniff....the last one.....Thanks ladies for 'playing'! It has been great!

Day 1 was Queen, Day 2 was Kat and so that leaves Day 3 as

Designs! I love designs.....I have been staring at a Dr Pepper logo and trying to figure out how to use it on a project! So... HOW could I let the QKD Logo go without notice!

Take a hard look at the QKD Logo at the top of the store page and let it be the inspiration for your design today! Maybe you will design your creation using the colors, maybe the oval shape, what ever it is just let me know HOW it inspired you for your creation!

The only ONLY on here is you have to use a stamp SOMEWHERE on your project! AND if you use a QKD stamp (current only) I'll give you an extra entry!

Now that the 'stuff' is out of the way....

You wanna know the first challenge right!?!

The first one is focusing around the 'Queen' in Queen Kat Designs! Queens wear CROWNS right?? Of course they do!!! For challenge #1 you must use a CROWN! You also must STAMP on your project! The stamp does not have to be a crown though....BUT it could be!

I said I loved him right????

The weekly challenge this week at ASF is to make a project using the 'Jumbo Playing Card' size (7.5 x 5) so I made this for my wonderful hubby.....putting a magnet on the back of it so he can put it in the car....


I'm almost done with all the cards I need to make for this month! Have two more to go! Can't wait to start showing them to you all!

Oh....and some EXCITING news coming in April! I'm soooooo excited but it is one of those 'gotta wait' things....sigh sigh sigh......

Tuesday....

Today is Tuesday....tomorrow is a new day....and sometime that is what we look for. It wasn't really that bad of a day but with it being weary and chilly outside it makes you feel yucky. I did get to go see my teachers for my Tuesday afternoon Weight Watchers and they are doing SO great! They lost ANOTHER 34 lbs! All together they have almost lost 400 lbs now! Is that NOT amazing! I have about 3 or 4 of them that are either in maintenance now or will be SOON! They always bring a bright spot to my day! Trying to get another group of teachers at another local school but they are at 18 and we have to have 20 to start....hopefully they will BEG and find 2 more!

I have some work to do for CG tomorrow, have to go get the truck from the transmission place (oh joy) and then there is Thursday.....can I tell you that I'm looking FORWARD to Friday...and praying that there is nothing that I HAVE to do that day besides school!!!

I did a few cards yesterday...but will need to take some digi pics of them before I share....and it has to be daylight to do that! So.....right now I think I might go find my jammies...give hubby a kiss....and then see if I can create a few more cards!

Life...it is always going!

Well...I had to throw in the towel yesterday on the L.O.A.D. challenge...I just couldn't work ahead and was stressing over it....so because the rest of life is stressed I thought it would be better to just let it go....I did 13 layouts though and for that I'm HAPPY!

Today I'm going to go work on the mountain of cards I need to have done in the next few weeks!

AND I got all my Club 52 layouts done for January!! I'll put some of those in the appropriate places! Now I'm off to finally have a little bit of time.....tomorrow is CRAZY Thursday and those days are NEVER slow!

Where did I go???

Have you ever wondered where YOU went? HA! I've been non stop since the first of the year! We had our big choir retreat last weekend! 160+ 6,7,8th graders! WOW! Where did they all come from? Then school started back...and then Weight Watchers is now back in full force....so....yea...

I have gotten some pages done though! Woohoo! I'll upload them in a bit....for now I have TONS of cards to make! Make sure you keep following the blog party!!!

I also did a layout today! For some WILD reason I joined BPS (Big Picture Scrapbooking) and signed up for the L.O.A.D. challenge...a LayOut A Day for the month of January! Lots of prizes so thought why not huh....here is the first layout!

Welcome 2008!

Happy New Year to all!

We spent the evening at home....but there ended up being a little fun in there! Ended up that all the kids were gone except Noah...and he was soooo sad....I'm sure you would be sad too if you were a 9yo and had to spend NYE with your mom and dad! HA!

SO.....dad went out and got fireworks! We NEVER buy fireworks....but this MADE this boy's year! The sweetest words said as he was shooting them with our supervision was 'look dad....I'm doing a show for you!'....sooooo sweet and definitely a priceless moment!

I pray that your year will be one blessed by the Hand of God Himself and that 2008 brings you and yours joy and health!
