For the last few months I have been participating with the Counterfeit Kit Community  I have thoroughly enjoyed building my 'kits' and scrapping from them!  This month is no different...here is their inspiration kit
and

Here is the kit I built from the above inspiration:

And last weekend I created four layouts from my kit.

So much fun to create from my stash!
Have a great weekend!

Can't believe it!

Well...after several attempts at finding this and some trial and errors I think I might play on here again!

It is March 26, 2020 and the world is in the midst of the 2020 Covid 19 pandemic.  Who knew....Just thought I would put that out there in case I somewhere in the future someone stumbles upon this blog!  HA!

Since 2014 a LOT has happened!  Most of the kiddos are grown and gone with families of their own....a few still live at home but that will be changing soon as the last two kiddos will be moving in together with their significant others soon.

We are up to 11 yes....ELEVEN grand kids and even 2 GREAT grands!  Wow!

Hubs went through a lot of health issues in 2019 and we are hoping for a much better 2020 on that front....so far so good but with this crazy virus who knows....we are keeping our 'social distance' from everyone (sad sad sad) and trying to keep Vince especially away from everyone....

I still LOVE to scrapbook....that hasn't changed and still use it as a way of escape for me.  Okay...there you are caught up that quick!  HA!  Have a great one and let's see if this time I keep posting....who knows!

Wash your hands and keep your social distance!

Try try try again!

Going to see what happens! It has been a long while but going to try again. Recent layout here!

It Has Been a While

Happy Sunday!

I think I accomplished something I wanted to do for a LONG time and that is to make a header for my blog!  Check it out!  I did that all by my self....well...I used Pic Monkey photo editor to help.  I really had fun and will be using that photo editing often for my photos.  Super simple and straight forward.

THEN I actually did a layout that is for a challenge!  From the blog called Scrap Our Stash, their September challenge, Back to School.  I haven't done something like this in a long time.  I sure hope I remember how to do all the linking and what not.  Anyway, the challenge was to use:

(1) or more items from list A:
Lined or ruled paper (striped paper does not count)
Chalkboard paper
Dictionary paper or a page from a book

AND…
(3) or more items from list B:
File Folder
Library Pocket and/or card
Pencil or pen
Paper Clip
Alphas
Numbers
Apple
Book
Ruler
Chalkboard embellishment

-
Here is my layout:

Obviously from the (1) I used the lined paper, then from (2) I used the ruler, alphas and then I had these little chalkboards that I wrote the word 'play' on.

My wonderful hubby loves to play cars with our sweet grandson, Ian.  And he always says 'Pop pop, play caaaarrrs' (wish you could hear how he says it!).  Hubby teaches him the true play of imagination....along with sound effects (tink tink tink, bang bang bang when they are fixing the cars and they love to pretend they are going to WalMart in Mommie's car to get bug juice!  The remote is WalMart and he has a little white car that is like mommies....they have tunnels made from cut out plastic jars and everything!  Of course I had to document this memory!

Thanks for looking and have a great Sunday.

Time to Fire this Up Again!

Hello friends...or strangers....or anyone who might stumble across this page.

It has been a while, a long while....so not going to babble about why, who or when but it is simply time to fire this up again!

How about a few pages I've done this year....yea...that is where I'll start!

That is all for now!

I'm on this week with the challenge at Scrapbook Heaven .
Make sure you check out ALL the challenges and did you know that each month there is a PRIZE for one of the submitted challenges???  Your chances are GREAT so come join us!

It is not a hard one but it is different!  I've noticed a few layouts with edges that are border punched but NOT all the way around!  Just a little here and a little there....so I thought I'd give it a try.  Here is what I came up with.

It is a little hard to tell that there is nothing behind the punch (looks like white cardstock) but there isn't!  I love how it looks in real life!  Even when my hubby saw it he commented on how he loved the little bits punched out!  So, I DARE you, challenge you or just ask if that is how you see it to give it a try!  I think you will like it!

By the way, this layout is my oldest son and his sweet wife while they were on a little vaca this year!  I think it is so neat how my older kids are now asking, bringing and requesting that I do layouts for them!  I guess it is one of the perks from this awesome hobby!  AND one more thing, I used the May Elite kit to create this one!  I'll be sharing a few more layouts in the next few days from this awesome kit!  It rocks!  Don't wait because they will NOT last!

And here are a few MORE layouts with the May Elite Kit....just to show you how fun it is1  I've created 4 layouts and there is enough left that I could EASILY create 4 more!

So much fun creating with this kit!  Check out the petite kit while you are there!  I'll share some creations with that one in the next few days!

A Little Challenge Work

Before I share two layouts created for Scrapbook Heaven's Monthly Challenges...

You know how you get all excited about yard sales especially when there are not two, not three but FOUR NEIGHBORHOOD sales right nears you AND a church sale!! (well, maybe you don't but we do) Let me just say that the anticipation isn't always worth it! Sigh...

Got up early to hit them all only to find out that not only were they a bit disappointing (two tables does not constitute a yard sale to me! That is a closet sale! Hahaha!) but also the pickets were out in full force. Plus Craig's List listings means that when there used to be 40/50 folks out because they heard about them to 250 plus people!! Pickings were thin and we even came home by 10:30! Sigh...

Now, I did have some fun scrapping. I complete Michelle's AND Vero's challenges! I'm up this Wednesday to post mine and that is what I'm going to work on today!!

Here they are, Vero shared a sketch and colors!

And Michelle's was to do a layout without pics! I did totally lift this layout from one I saw on that veggie site!

You guys have a super Sunday!

Easter Sunday was a fun day!

We decided to do something a little different this year.

We went to the 6:30 am service! And we made it WITH a 3 month old as they were singing the first song!! How good is that!

That was the beginning of a beautiful day. Adison was serving at church so quickly between services we snuck him out to take a few quick pictures. That is a tradition but I will say taking them behind the gym at church does not make good pictures! Oh well, I still have them even if they aren't perfect.

The rest of us headed home to take the 'traditional' pictures. Yea! Then we changed clothes and loaded up for a new fun twist for breakfast!

Hubby has been wanting a charcoal grill (of course I've wanted one for years but isn't that how it goes?). So we decided to cook breakfast on the grill at our Reservoir area!

It was a beautiful morning, and after moving to the sun (was a little chilly in the shade) the boys cooked away!

I think we found a new possible tradition? Well when the Mississippi weather holds out that is!

Hope you had a blessed day!

I know I know.....

I know, I know.....I SAID I was going to keep this updated but I failed....now????  Think I can???

I HAVE to share with you guys the April Kits from Scrapbook Heaven

BOTH of these kits are fantastic and at the price of $24.99 (plus shipping) and $17.99 (plus shipping) you cannot go wrong!  There are very limited numbers of these kits!  If you don't want to miss a month you need to sign up for our Angel Club Membership!  That GUARANTEES you won't miss a month plus you will receive them at a further discount!

Here are a few of my layouts using the Elite Kit!  (I have some of the Petite kit too but Adison has my camera!  YIKES...why did I let him borrow that anyway???)

Yes....they are all from ONE kit!  I love the diversity of Scrapbook Heaven's kits!  Don't you?  Everything from family layouts, girl layouts, and boy stuff!!!

That is it for today....tomorrow is Easter and we are going to the 6:30 service and then out to the Rez to cook breakfast together!  How fun does that sound???  I'll try to get a few pics and share and then share my goodies from the Petite kit!  Have a super blessed day!

Diary of a Grandma

It has been a while....quite a while but that doesn't mean life has stopped...

It is time to bring some new perspective to this 'blog' thing....question is can I keep it up?  SURE I can!

With 2012 fast approaching it is time to gear up and bring more than just scrapbooking/stamping to this blog...it is time to keep up with family, with life, with weight loss journey, with GRAND CHILDREN!  Yes...we have even added a new member to our family!  I am now the grandma to Bailie (age 13) and Ian who was born 12/24/11.

How about a few little pics....here is my sweet grand daughter:
At 13 she is going on 21, she is beautiful!

And here he is....Ian William, born 12/24/11 weighing in at 9lbs 4 oz and almost 21 inches long...

Not only is he here but I had the honor to be IN THE ROOM with mom and dad as he came into this world.  That alone was no small feat. Mom's labor wasn't the easiest, and believe it or not, even at 9lbs plus he was 3 weeks and 1 day early!  He currently is in the NICU but has already come far and hopefully will be home with mom and dad SOON!  Here are a few more pics of his little journey so far:
                                          Day 1 and 2, December 25, 26

                                          December 27
                                         Mom with Ian December 27

AND today he came off the heating blanket and now just to work his way off the oxygen!

My thoughts through all this are simple...it is worth it!  I am anxiously awaiting the day to hold him and coo properly over and with the sweet little one.  Hopefully you will soon see those pictures here, until then....just know that I LOVE being GRANDMA!
